Sunday 19th of June, at Chantilly racecourse, on the day of the prestigious Prix de Diane Longines 2016, the Qatar Derby des pur-sang arabe (Gr I PA), a race for the 4 years old arabian racehorses over 2 000 m, showed a very big level of competition.
On the finish line, just by a nose, the fighting was between 3 horses. This is ALSAKER (Af Albahar x Jakkarta by Kesberoy) who won just before TAYF (Amer) and KHATAAB (Amer).
The trainer Elisabeth BERNARD explained to Paris Turf: "Every time, when we won this race it was by a nose, and every time when we lost this race it was by a nose."
She followed: "This horse was break in by Thomas FOURCY, who made a wonderful job (underline Mme BERNARD, very dignified and very stirred by this winner). I was so pleased to welcome the horse in my stables for the Royal Cavalry of Oman because he is very talented."
Arrived in march in his new stables, ALSAKER won his race last month. This race proved that he will have a beautiful future this year.
We would like to congratulate the team of ALSAKER:
His owner: the Royal Cavalry of Oman,
